“To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”
- Elliot Erwitt
Hi! So on the left is a picture of me. (I'm the guy not the alpaca btw) I am currently a Freshman at California State University Long Beach, and plan to graduate with a degree in Child Development and Family Care. Aside from photography, my hobbies include: making music, art, and 2ne1. My plan is to become an elementary school teacher and maybe do something media related on the side. As much as I love photography and movie making, I think that being a teacher is a more realistic goal for me and is still something that I will greatly enjoy. But who knows? Maybe that will change and I'll end up doing something completely different!
To me, photography is more of a fascination than a hobby. I think it's incredible how a photo can hide or reveal so much about a person, place, or thing; candid photos that catch things in their natural state, or studio/posed shots that show how things want to be seen. This opens up the possibility for so many different ways of capturing moments, whether it be the unpredictability of street photography, or the overwhelming control of studio and portrait photography. This website is a way for me to express these feelings through my own photos and my thoughts about how and why I take them.
